Welcome to Camp Waldo, a fun summer camp on the banks of the Greenbrier River in Summers County, West Virginia. This is our first year.
This year, Camp Waldo will hold one two-week overnight summer camp. In the future, we will hold two three-week sessions. We intend to have eighty campers this year (both boys and girls) from ages 10 to 12. We are seeking to hire 20 counselors for this summer.
Camp will be free for all campers during our first summer.
Camp Waldo combines fun and adventure with learning and the arts. We will focus on arts, sciences, and adventure.
Camp Waldo will have all the fun of a traditional summer camp — swimming and canoeing in the Greenbrier River, camping, art, music, hiking, archery, basketball, volleyball, disc golf, soccer and other games. Campers will also enjoy some of our camp’s unique activities, like beekeeping, vegetable gardening, native plant propagation, astronomy, reading and writing stories, ecology, theater and time in our science lab.
Our goal is to give kids in our region a fun experience learning, becoming more self-reliant, and playing in nature.
